House Bill 334, an act relating to insurance producers
House Bill 334 modified existing law and made it against the law for an individual or business entity which is dually licensed as a consultant and an agent to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance, or otherwise act as an agent with respect to the insurance risk of the insured. It also prohibits an agent who has a financial interest with a consultant from selling, soliciting, or negotiating insurance with respect to the insurance risk of the insured that was the subject of a consulting contract. House Bill 259, an act creating the Kentucky Long Term Care Partnership Program
House Bill 259 created the Kentucky Long-Term Care Partnership Program. This program will encourage Kentuckians to purchase long-term care insurance policies because they will be allowed to qualify for Medicaid without exhausting all of their assets. Individuals who purchase long-term care insurance will be able to protect their assets in an amount equal to their benefits under the long-term care policy.
